Fundamentals Program
10P GTX Fundamental Jiu Jitsu
Our mission is to provide the ideal starting point for anyone new to Jiu Jitsu by teaching the core positions, movements, and principles that form the foundation of the art. While this is an all-levels program, the Fundamentals Program is specifically designed to give new students a safe, supportive, and structured environment where they can build confidence, improve fitness, and develop a strong technical base at a learning-friendly pace.
Upon completing the program, students are recognized with a white belt with one stripe, celebrating their dedication, progress, and mastery of core Jiu Jitsu skills. Demonstration of concepts and skills is key to graduation, which typically takes 3–6 months of consistent training.
Fundamentals Program Goals
Teach Essential Jiu Jitsu Concepts: Introduce major positions, transitions, sweeps, and submissions that every practitioner must understand to progress confidently in the sport.
Prioritize Learning Over Intensity: Maintain a controlled pace designed for new students while remaining valuable to all levels.
All-Levels Friendly: Whether you’re sharpening fundamentals, recovering from hard training, returning from injury, or helping others grow, all students are encouraged to join Fundamentals classes. However, you must have earned your white belt with one stripe before joining Advanced classes.
Build Strong Movement Basics: Develop body awareness, balance, coordination, and proper technique that will carry over into all future training.
Create a Supportive Environment: Foster a positive class culture where students feel comfortable asking questions, drilling with intention, and growing at their own pace.
Recognize Milestones: Celebrate student progress with the award of a white belt with one stripe upon program completion, marking the first major step on their Jiu Jitsu journey.
Family Friendly: This class is perfect for young adult students and families who want to train together.
Prepare Adult Students for Advanced Class: Ensure every student gains the foundational skills needed to safely and confidently transition into more advanced classes and live training.
